Zeldesign was retained by the Leimert Park Village/Crenshaw Corridor Business Improvement District to implement The Sankofa Walk of Fame project in Leimert Park, a predominantly African American neighborhood.

Through research, community meetings and resident interviews, our firm successfully highlighted the neighborhood’s unique identity and values, securing community consensus on the names of the honorees. This was the first public art installation in Leimert Park’s eight decade history that commemorates several of its illustrious residents.

Zeldesign also served as project manager, collaborating with the selected fine artist on concept, managing the production schedule, budget and coordination with fabricators and city engineers.
